Ag Lockdown Ltd ("we", "our", "us") operates the Ag SmartAlarm application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, why it is collected, and how it is used.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Location Data (WiFi Network Information)

The App collects location data in order to identify the WiFi access point your device is connected to. Specifically, the App reads:

  • WiFi BSSID — the MAC address of the connected WiFi access point
  • WiFi SSID — the name of the connected WiFi network
  • WiFi signal strength and frequency

On Android, the operating system requires location permission to access WiFi network information (BSSID/SSID). The App requests both foreground and background location permission for this purpose.

The App does not use GPS and does not track your geographic location. Location permission is used solely to read WiFi network details as required by the Android operating system.

This data is collected in the foreground and in the background to detect when the device moves between WiFi access points, allowing the system to determine the device's location within a building.

1.2 Device Information

The App collects the following device information during registration:

  • Device identifier (generated by the App)
  • Device model and operating system version
  • Platform type (Android, Windows, etc.)
  • IP address
  • Hostname

1.3 Network Information

The App collects network connection details including:

  • Connection type (WiFi, Ethernet)
  • IP address
  • Active Directory site name (where applicable)

1.4 Notification Data

The App receives push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver alert messages. Notification tokens are stored to enable message delivery.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • WiFi access point identification: BSSID and SSID data is sent to the SmartAlarm server to determine which room or area within a building the device is located in. This enables location-targeted alert messaging.
  • Device registration: Device information is used to register and identify devices within the SmartAlarm system.
  • Alert delivery: Network and notification data is used to deliver alert messages to the correct devices.
  • Network change detection: The App monitors network changes to automatically update the device's location when it connects to a different WiFi access point.

3. Data Sharing

Data collected by the App is sent to the SmartAlarm server operated by Ag Lockdown Ltd. We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to third parties.

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) is used for push notification delivery. Google's privacy policy applies to the processing of notification tokens.

4. Data Retention

Device registration data is retained for as long as the device is active in the SmartAlarm system. When a device is removed from the system, its associated data is deleted.

5. Data Security

All communication between the App and the SmartAlarm server is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Device credentials are stored securely on the device.

6. Your Rights

The App is deployed and managed by your organisation's IT administrator. Contact your organisation to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data.

7. Background Location Access

The App accesses location data in the background to detect WiFi access point changes. This allows the system to update the device's building location even when the App is not in the foreground. Background location access is used exclusively for WiFi BSSID detection — no GPS tracking is performed.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
